MYP Arts Festival

I have experience planning and coordinating an annual MYP Arts Festival, bringing together students, parents and the wider community to celebrate the Arts. The festival provides opportunities to engage, create, connect and explore through activities such as dance, crafts, painting, pottery, magic, music and theatre.

A highlight of the festival is a collaborative mural created by the whole school, giving every student the opportunity to contribute to a shared artwork and lasting celebration of the school community.

Community Painting Service Club

I aim to create opportunities for students to use their artistic skills in service of others. For example, through the Community Painting Service Club, I worked with students to transform the walls of a school serving blind and Deaf students. This experience allowed students to use their talents for a meaningful cause and recognise how art can extend beyond the classroom, bring people together and make a positive contribution to the wider community.

Real World Experiance: Art In the Park

I believe students should have opportunities to share their work beyond the school environment. Participating in public exhibitions allows them to represent their school, engage with wider audiences and experience how artists prepare, present and discuss their work in professional settings. For example, students exhibited at Art in the Park alongside some of Malawi’s leading artists, giving them valuable real-world experience and the confidence to see themselves as part of a wider creative community.
